Project Title:

World Peace Forum

Subtitle:

Reimagining Peace Through Trade, Data, and Dialogue — From the Red Sea to the World

Abstract:

The World Peace Forum (WPF) is a flagship initiative of the OAG Foundation, developed under the ODT Program to address the urgent and evolving dynamics of global conflict. Rooted in the belief that peace is not merely the absence of violence but the presence of equitable, just, and sustainable systems, WPF reimagines peacebuilding as a holistic, multidisciplinary process.

In light of escalating crises—from the humanitarian devastation in Gaza and Lebanon to prolonged instability in Sudan, Ethiopia, and the Red Sea corridor—it has become clear that conventional diplomacy and reactive aid are no longer enough. These conflicts are symptoms of deeper, systemic challenges such as economic inequality, social exclusion, and resource competition. WPF responds to this reality with a forward-looking architecture that blends academic research, fair trade, digital diplomacy, inclusive development, regional dialogue, and technology-enabled cooperation.

Conceived as a civil society-led, data-informed platform, the Forum aims to broker peace through economic collaboration, especially in fragile regions like the Horn of Africa and beyond. Hosted in Hong Kong, a historic gateway for global arbitration and financial convergence, WPF positions itself as a neutral ground—bringing together governments, multilateral institutions, investors, and community leaders to design cooperative and scalable solutions to global insecurity.

WPF aligns closely with international peacebuilding frameworks including SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), the UN’s Sustaining Peace Resolutions, the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and the WTO’s Trade for Peace initiative. Rather than duplicating existing efforts, it seeks to amplify and operationalize them—providing a structured, long-term platform where policy meets capital, and where ideas translate into practical action.

Ultimately, the World Peace Forum aspires to become the “World Economic Forum for Peace”—a global convening space for ideas, strategies, and investments that support resilience, dignity, and shared prosperity. Grounded in justice, empowered by trade, and guided by long-term impact, WPF offers a new model for global peace diplomacy in the 21st century.
